Banana Oat Bites
These Banana Oat Bites are perfect to make on busy mornings and snackbox days. Made with just a ripe banana and a handful of pantry staples, they come together in literal minutes and bake into toddler-friendly bites that are naturally sweet without added sugar. They’re great on their own or paired with fruit and veggies for a balanced snackbox, and you can easily customize them with extras like cinnamon, chia seeds, or a few raisins.
Banana Oat Bites
Ingredients (~16 mini balls)
1 ripe banana (mashed)
½ cup rolled oats
1 tbsp ground flaxseed or chia seeds (optional, for extra nutrition)
¼ tsp cinnamon
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a small baking tray with parchment.
In a bowl, mash the banana until smooth.
Stir in oats, flaxseed/chia (if using) and cinnamon until combined. The mixture should be sticky but not runny.
Using a small spoon, scoop and roll into bite-sized balls (or flatten slightly into discs for easier toddler bites).
Bake for 10–12 minutes until set and lightly golden.
Cool completely before serving.
Notes:
Store in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
For younger toddlers, flattening into discs makes them easier to chew.
You can also add 1 tsp nut butter or tahini for a richer flavor (if allergens are safe).
